Washington, DC — Tuesday marked the launch of Count Every Hero, a cross-partisan initiative chaired by Marine Corps General (Ret.) Anthony Zinni to ensure every single service member’s vote is counted before election winners are declared.
Widespread efforts to undermine mail voting have made it especially important for partisanship to be minimized when it comes to our service members voting by mail, a practice that has endured since the Civil War.
The unprecedented nature of the 2020 election has led more than 70 former generals, admirals, and veterans to support the Count Every Hero public education campaign. Through advertising and outreach efforts, the group aims to ensure all service members’ votes are counted before election winners are declared by candidates, election officials, and media outlets.
